![]() Imagine being forced to use a specific modding resource for users (like Steam workshop) outside of the community that makes mods. Another similarity to this is how Nexus is the centralized board for anything Bethesda is making. Be glad we don't live in such a dystopia, yet.Įverything is centralised on the Taleworlds boards and its community alone and exclusivity brought upon by a single store would break that community apart. So much that creating communities would become a difficult endeavor. Any other place would always feel too dispersed. If there is only one monopoly, communities will always primarily stick to it. The respective Taleworld boards to advertise mods such as Pendor, the OSR's forum resources that modders use, stuff like that wouldn't even be allowed to exist, because everyone would mostly stick to that one shop. It would also require a vast rewrite of the entire backend the Mount and Blade community is supporting themselves on right now. Imagine the community actually enforcing themselves to use only a certain thing in a certain way once the modding tools are out.Īnd even if I'm wrong, imagine the blowback taleworlds would be getting if what you say would be even a fraction of the truth. ![]() Doing so otherwise would require a revamp of the Talewords community and since they've already done so without any major changes I don't see any trace of exclusivity that would be either enforced by Talewords themselves or the community, which would honestly be insane. As it always has been even before v0.808 days (the classic Mount and Blade beta, if you know how Taleworlds and the forum handled mods there. ![]() At least get the terms correct.Īs usual, whenever there is a mod, be sure to check the respective taleworld forum to find the mod entry (such as Floris, Pendor or literally every other mod for M&B, Warband and soon, Bannerlord) so you can download the mod outside of "modding stores" such as Steam workshop.Īgain, it has nothing to do with speculation and its just how things happen to be organised. Mods still require Mount and Blade Bannerlord for them to function. What do you mean by using the term "standalone". Nightcraw1er.488: *snip* Its not speculation at all lol, don't you read any of the dozens of moddb entries?
